Our History
From Connecticut Roots to Florida Style
1. The Connecticut Roots
In 1989, Joe made a bold transition, moving to Florida and bringing his extensive styling background with him. The vision for the salon truly took flight when he teamed up with his wife, Carolina. Together, they took ownership of their own storefront in the Lakewood Ranch area of Bradenton, Florida, officially launching Hotheads Salon. By merging Joe’s technical mastery with a fresh, collaborative vision, they created a space that was not just a salon, but a family-run business dedicated to the craft.
2. The Move: Launching Hotheads in Florida
Our journey began with Joe Rotundo, whose career as a master hairdresser took shape in Hartford, Connecticut. For years, Joe established himself as a prominent stylist in the regional salon circuit, building a reputation for impeccable cuts and high-end technical skill. Operating out of the bustling corridor connecting Cromwell and Rocky Hill—specifically at 412 Cromwell Avenue—Joe cultivated a loyal following and refined the expertise that would eventually travel south to the Sunshine State.
